The Editors at Tacohunter.blogspot are thrilled to announce that due to overwhelming subscribership, the quickly expanding growth of our national fan base, and the introduction of tacos to the state of Michigan, we will be opening a new "Taco Hunter" office in Michigan.

In these new times, where words such as "Pivot" & "Herd Immunity" are new to the English Vocabulary; MExican food too, has had to pivot its herd, and immune itself to new shorelines and farm to tables.

WE are eager to get to work, hunting for the answers that have long queried the minds of Michigan's few Taco consumers; such as,  "Did the Taco actually originate in Michigan's Upper Pennisula!?!" ; "Does Northern Michigan wine tourism pair well with taco tourism?"; "Do rumors of lead contamination in Michigan Rivers affect Flint's already sparse Cilantro crop?"; "What IS so 'great' about 'lakes'?"

Of course, we will continue with our verdant commitment to endeavor beyond in the hunt for the greatest tacos in Southern California, and ... NOW ALSO IN MICHIGAN!  ALL CAPS.

Today's Taco Truck Run

The picture says it all... A nice, clean aluminum plate ("aluminium" to you old-school English chaps) means that the truck delivered the taco, friend!

If you live on this side of the 110 fwy, we highly recommend that you visit this truck!!! It wasn't super fancy or anything, but hell, they serve you on a plate of silver. Have you ever tried eating off of metal? It's hard.

Just another instance of how we'll do anything to bring you taco fans the stuff you're craving!
Keep your salsa hand strong,

India's Tandoori

Just a stone's throw from the Miracle Mile gourmet taco haven El Toro Cantina is the welcoming lunchtime buffet of owner Gurmeet S. Multani's India's Tandoori. One can almost smell the many different taco specialties of El Toro wafting into India's Tandoori as you are seated by the very friendly wait staff.

The atmosphere is typically Americanized Indian, with suitable paintings of swarthy men and underboob-showing ladies entwined in non-consensual sexual embraces. The tables are clean, with those pervasive white polyester table cloths and deep burgundy napkins that are at home in any Chinese restaurant. The nearby El Toro opts for a more rustic solid table top with no linens.

After giving your drink orders and reviewing the printed menu, just in case a picky eater decides he OR SHE would rather bother the cook than get perfectly fine pre-made food from the buffet, you are invited to get up, grab a plate and get to business.

The buffet is a fantasy playground of Indian staples... from a succulently roasted Chicken Tikka to verdant Palak Paneer to desserts of watery rice pudding and Gulab Jamun, a cold dense honey soaked milk pastry ball. Throw a grape on top of a Gulab Jamun, and you're one step closer to Nirvana.

Quiznos Sammies

Tacos at Quiznos you say? No. No one said that. Where did you read or hear anyone say that? Don't come to this blog, and start spouting off about your rumors of chem. trails and tacos at Quiznos.

Sammies. Now there's a good taco. If you have a Starbucks down the street from your apartment, home or van, then chances are you may have a Quiznos Sandwich stand in your neighborhood too.

We all know them for their "toasty" brand sandwiches, but now they're turning the "heat up" on a new lunchtime creation. The Sammie. The Sammie is pretty much a taco, disguised as a Quiznos sandwich pretending to be a taco (that tastes like a Quiznos sandwich). Can you say "yummy?" Well I can. But when I say "yummy," it comes out "Sammie."

This review has been the bomb. Boom! I'm O-U-T.

Julio's Mexican Grill

5174 Wilshire Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90036

The salsa negra and the salsa verde were a little bland.

I did come up with a new drink, via their generous drink fountain... the "Arnoldo Palmero", which is one part iced tea and one part sweet watermelon-flavored drink.

A fish-taco enthusiast that joined us did enjoy their tangy potato-filled burrito.

Keep your taco eyes clear,

p.s. Does the hunter hunt the taco, or does the taco hunt the hunter?

Loteria Grill of Hollywood

6627 Hollywood Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90028

A nine dollar Michelada, you say? Can it really be that good?

The Michelada is a popular Mexican alcoholic beverage of several variations, the common ingredient being beer.

It can be similar to a Bloody Mary but containing beer instead of vodka, although a less complicated concoction of Mexican beer with sauces and lime juice is also referred to as a Michelada. The drink dates back to the 1940s, when mixing beer with hot sauce or salsa became popular in Mexico. In recent years, the drink has begun to become popular in the United States.

But can Loteria Grill make one worth nine big ones? Eh, not really. Instead, grab yourself a 50¢ Tecate, somehow throw in lime juice, Cholula, paprika and salt, then use the leftover cash to buy yourself a nice side order of Loteria guacamole, which goes well with their chips, which coincidentally goes well with their delicious "hot sauce".
