Quiznos Sammies

Tacos at Quiznos you say? No. No one said that. Where did you read or hear anyone say that? Don't come to this blog, and start spouting off about your rumors of chem. trails and tacos at Quiznos.

Sammies. Now there's a good taco. If you have a Starbucks down the street from your apartment, home or van, then chances are you may have a Quiznos Sandwich stand in your neighborhood too.

We all know them for their "toasty" brand sandwiches, but now they're turning the "heat up" on a new lunchtime creation. The Sammie. The Sammie is pretty much a taco, disguised as a Quiznos sandwich pretending to be a taco (that tastes like a Quiznos sandwich). Can you say "yummy?" Well I can. But when I say "yummy," it comes out "Sammie."

This review has been the bomb. Boom! I'm O-U-T.

Julio's Mexican Grill

5174 Wilshire Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90036

The salsa negra and the salsa verde were a little bland.

I did come up with a new drink, via their generous drink fountain... the "Arnoldo Palmero", which is one part iced tea and one part sweet watermelon-flavored drink.

A fish-taco enthusiast that joined us did enjoy their tangy potato-filled burrito.

Keep your taco eyes clear,

p.s. Does the hunter hunt the taco, or does the taco hunt the hunter?

Loteria Grill of Hollywood

A nine dollar Michelada, you say? Can it really be that good?

The Michelada is a popular Mexican alcoholic beverage of several variations, the common ingredient being beer.

It can be similar to a Bloody Mary but containing beer instead of vodka, although a less complicated concoction of Mexican beer with sauces and lime juice is also referred to as a Michelada. The drink dates back to the 1940s, when mixing beer with hot sauce or salsa became popular in Mexico. In recent years, the drink has begun to become popular in the United States.

But can Loteria Grill make one worth nine big ones? Eh, not really. Instead, grab yourself a 50¢ Tecate, somehow throw in lime juice, Cholula, paprika and salt, then use the leftover cash to buy yourself a nice side order of Loteria guacamole, which goes well with their chips, which coincidentally goes well with their delicious "hot sauce".
